Hospice Care

Hospice care is focused on making a terminally-ill patient comfortable and offering support to the family and patient during this difficult time. We work to ensure the patient has specialized care to relieve pain and ensure comfort and dignity. Our approach is holistic, nurturing not only the patient’s physical body, but his or her emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs, as well as those of the family. Our caregivers are trained to help the patient and family process grief and our support is continued through bereavement and beyond. Sun Tree Hospice is dedicated to providing the utmost comfort and care.

What are the benefits of hospice care?

Hospice care is administered to those with a life expectancy of 6 months or less. During this time, Sun Tree Hospice works to ensure the patient has the highest quality of life possible. We want each patient to feel comfortable and dignified and be able to enjoy the remainder of their time with their loved ones. We openly communicate with the family so they fully understand what is going on and provide the family and patient with physical, spiritual, and emotional support during this time. Many family members take on the responsibility of being the primary caregiver—but you can’t do it alone. You need breaks for your own wellbeing. We provide support and care so you don’t have to carry that responsibility alone.

Hospice care is most often given in the comfort of your own home where you can continue to live as normally as health permits. Medications are delivered directly and needed medical equipment is covered as well. We work to relieve and manage pain and the symptoms of the disease. Hospice care is designed to give high quality end-of-life care to make this transition easier on both the patient and family. Call Sun Tree Hospice to discuss your needs today!

Private Duty Care

If you or a loved one needs more help at home, private duty care may be the perfect solution. Private duty care allows a patient to stay at home but have a caregiver come offer assistance. Sun Tree Hospice works with the patient, family, and attending physician to develop a customized care plan. Each plan is unique to the needs of the patient and family. Private duty care services allow you to choose how much care is needed—from a few hours a week to 24-hour care.

What are the benefits of private duty care?

Those with private duty care have personal care providers who come in-home to assist with various day-to-day activities while allowing you the greatest independence. Our main focus is personal care—our staff helps the patient with baths, toileting, grooming, and other needs while putting your dignity top priority. We also provide companionship and help with other day-to-day activities such as running errands, preparing meals, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping. With our Sun Tree Hospice professionals and your physician, you can choose how much care is needed. Whether you only need someone for a few hours while a primary caregiver takes a break or you’re looking for more constant care, Sun Tree Hospice will design a care plan that works for you.

Palliative Care

Palliative care focuses on relieving and controlling pain and suffering of patients without trying to cure the underlying cause. Our medical professionals and the patient, family, and attending physician work together to create a treatment plan to address the specific needs of the patient.

What are the benefits of palliative care?

Palliative care can be adapted to many illnesses and diseases. The point of palliative care is to control pain, but it also can improve symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, and depression as well as soothe anxieties and stress. Even breathing difficulties can be improved. Palliative care can be introduced at any stage of an illness or disease to improve the quality of life for the patient and his or her family. Designed to provide comfort during a physically and emotionally distressing time, palliative care can be given in any setting from the hospital to the comfort of your own home. From alleviating pain and side effects from radiation or chemotherapy to relieving discomfort and stress associated with chronic diseases, Sun Tree Hospice can deliver palliative care to help a patient be more comfortable. Senior Care

Like private duty care, senior care allows seniors the opportunity to continue living at home but receive the assistance they need. Many aging seniors prefer to stay in the comfort of their own home instead of moving to a nursing home or assisted living facility, but can no longer carry out all their day-to-day activities alone. We offer assistance as outlined in a personal care plan you, your family, your physician, and the professionals at Sun Tree Hospice design. Whether you need someone 24/7 or just for a few hours a week, our caregivers provide personal hygiene care, minor health care services, companionship, and help with other activities including recreational activities, running errands, preparing meals, grocery shopping, and light housekeeping.

What are the benefits of senior care?

The biggest benefit is that a senior can continue to live in his or her home and the family can have peace of mind knowing they aren’t completely alone and are getting the assistance they need. Many families choose to provide primary caregiving to their aging loved ones, in which case, senior care can supplement the care so the family doesn’t have to shoulder the responsibility alone. Senior care allows seniors and their families to have peace of mind, high quality of life, and dignity as they age and can no longer attend to all their day-to-day activities alone. Contact Sun Tree Hospice today to arrange for the senior care you and your family require.
